Here in Ouray, Colorado, the outdoor life has no limits. After celebrating our 25th anniversary, we have as strong of a Mountain Rescue Team as ever. In 1974, Ouray Mountain Rescue Team was incorporated to serve the technical rescue and emergency medical service needs of Ouray County and the surrounding mountain communities of southwestern Colorado. Ouray County located in the rugged San Juan Mountains is an extremely vertical world with many potential hazards which may endanger locals, tourists, recreationalists and the general public who travel the Million Dollar Highway (US 550).
